Ayurveda, which literally means “The Science of Life,” is the healing science from India. It has been practiced for over 5,000 years by millions of individuals to assist the body in journeying back to optimal health. More and more people are discovering that these ancient principles are easily applicable to modern life and that they have the power to create health and contentment. Health comes when we live in harmony with our true nature as spirit. Ayurveda allows us to get a glimpse of our individual true nature and to find the best ways to live a life of balance. It provides holistic understanding and healing to people on all levels: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Ayurveda uses a multitude of healing modalities including herbs, diet, colors, aromas, sound, lifestyle recommendations, pancha karma, meditation, and yoga.
All classes are based on the popular book “Healing Your Life: Lessons on the Path of Ayurveda” by
Dr. Marc Halpern, Founder of the California College of Ayurveda. In addition Riim Lagerwerf will incorporate Yoga into this program to offer the participant a very complete Wellness Program.
The path of healing through Ayurveda is a path of personal responsibility. Each person is empowered with the ability to make choices. Those choices will either bring health and peace of mind or suffering and disease.

The educational classes will take place in the lovely Yoga studio of Jan Poll at Hollandlaan 7, the Hague.
The Red Elephant is located at the end of highway A12 direction The Hague. Turn right, just before the Esso petrolstation, at Mesdagstraat.
During daytime on weekdays there is a possibility to park your car in the garage of the “Red Elephant”; costs two Euros per hour (excl. VAT). The entrance is at the back of the building in the Mesdagstraat. Sign in with your name and the announcement that you come for yoga classes.
After 18.00 pm and during weekends the car park is closed, but parking in the neighborhood is free after 17.00 pm and in weekends.
At the left side of the Red Elephant, in de Mesdagstraat, there are racks to secure your bike.
From train station Den Haag Centraal it’s a 10-minute walk to the Red Elephant.
By public transport
From the train station Den Haag Centraal you can take:
Bus line 90, direction Lisse, takes 3 minute to bus stop Boslaan (noord), walk 130 metres to the Red Elephant.
